Research Bootcamp: Core Skills 2 - Researching for the literature review; Writing the literature review

Presenter(s):
Melissa Helwig, Shelley McKibbon; Janice Eddington; Kala Hirtle

Researching for the literature review: The methodology of a literature review goes beyond just searching for information. Good literature review methodology follows a process and is well-documented. This session will cover this process from the research question through documenting your search methods in multiple disciplines. Attendees will practice and leave with the tools to support them in the literature review process.

Writing the literature review: Students sometimes do not see literature reviews as persuasive documents. Yet, comprehensively reviewing the literature on the topic and specific research question allows authors to convince readers that the work is necessary.
