Research Camp 2026: Excel 4 - Excel experts

Presenter(s):
Julie Marcoux

In this hands-on workshop, you will use a comprehensive Excel learning file to learn more about what Excel can do – and maybe even become an Excel expert! You will practice using advanced Excel formulas and Excel features specifically chosen for their broad applicability and utility to complete a variety of exercises. Prerequisite: Excel 365 for desktop but content is almost entirely compatible with Excel 2016+ for desktop (Windows or Mac). Additional prerequisite: you should feel comfortable creating and modifying formulas including formulas with absolute cell references. If that’s not you, please consider completing Research Camp’s Excel 2: First look at formulas module before attending this workshop or viewing the recording.

After attending or viewing the workshop session, you will be able to:

  • Build the following formulas in Excel: conditional formulas (SUMIFS, OR, AND, IFS), lookup formulas (such as XLookup), and more.
  • Practice using the following built-in Excel features: removing duplicates, paste as values, go to special, advanced find/replace, and flash fill.
  • Identify sources of additional Excel learning content to explore to deepen your expertise.
