The Indigenous Community Room is the Atlantic Canadian Hub of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR). It is primarily reserved for the use of our Indigenous community as well as internal and external university researchers consulting the records of the NCTR.

Requests for booking of this space will be accepted for small events that serve to highlight Indigenous knowledge, support Indigenous students, and engage Indigenous communities. It is available to all but the event should have Indigenous content.

Smudging is welcome in this space, with the use of specially installed controls. Continuous open flame (i.e. burning of candles) is not permitted.

The following equipment is available in this room:

  • NCTR Hub workstation
  • 6' Round table
  • Rectangular table
  • Small counter and sink
  • 10x guest chairs
  • Wireless access
  • Items required for smudging (i.e. dried sage, lighter, etc.)

Found in the CIBC Multicultural Centre, located on the Student Learning Commons Floor (top floor) of the library, past Library Services.
